Daily Bible Reading: Mark 4:1-20, 2Chronicles 17-18
DO YOU HAVE THAT ROOT?
The strong root is the key to have a victorious life during tribulation and persecution. Jesus explained the parable of the sower: “These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness; and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble Mrk.4:16-17.”
The tribulation and persecution may happen individually or collectively. We will never know when it may come into our life. As now we are approaching the end times, we must get ourselves ready for the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth Rev.3:10. Without the strong root, the power from the Word of God will only endure for a time! It is very important to nurture a strong root for our inner man from now!
The root needs lot of time to grow. The Bible told us: “For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit Jer.17:8.” The root need to grow and spread out to reach the water. We must meditate on the Word of God, that we receive daily through our devotion time and weekly through the church service Jos.1:8. We need to make a room for the Word of God to grow and spread out its roots to grasp the entire aspect of our life. Let’s give up our time to grow that root.
APAKAH ANDA MEMPUNYAI AKAR ITU?
Akar yang kuat adalah kunci untuk memiliki hidup yang berkemenangan dalam masa penindasan dan penganiayaan. Yesus menjelaskan perumpamaan tentang penabur, ”Demikian juga yang ditaburkan di tanah yang berbatu-batu, ialah orang-orang yang mendengar firman itu dan segera menerimanya dengan gembira, tetapi mereka tidak berakar dan tahan sebentar saja. Apabila kemudian datang penindasan atau penganiayaan karena firman itu, mereka segera murtad Mrk.4:16-17.”
Penindasan dan penganiayaan dapat terjadi secara individu ataupun bersama-sama. Kita tidak akan pernah tahu kapan itu akan datang dalam hidup kita. Sementara kita sedang mendekati akhir zaman, kita harus mempersiapkan diri untuk hari pencobaan yang akan datang atas seluruh dunia untuk mencobai mereka yang diam di bumi Wah.3:10. Tanpa akar yang kuat, kuasa dari Firman Allah hanya akan bertahan sebentar saja! Sangat penting untuk menumbuhkan akar yang kuat bagi manusia batiniah kita mulai dari sekarang!
Akar membutuhkan banyak waktu untuk bertumbuh. Alkitab mengatakan, ”Ia akan seperti pohon yang ditanam di tepi air, yang merambatkan akar-akarnya ke tepi batang air, dan yang tidak mengalami datangnya panas terik, yang daunnya tetap hijau, yang tidak kuatir dalam tahun kering, dan yang tidak berhenti menghasilkan buah Yer.17:8.” Akar perlu tumbuh dan merambat untuk mencapai air. Kita harus merenungkan Firman Tuhan, yang kita terima setiap hari melalui saat teduh kita dan setiap minggu melalui ibadah di gereja Yos.1:8. Kita perlu membuat ruang bagi Firman Tuhan untuk bertumbuh dan merambatkan akarnya untuk mencengkeram seluruh aspek kehidupan kita. Mari meluangkan waktu kita untuk menumbuhkan akar itu.
