THE POWER OF LOVE

There is tremendous power within the love of God, the power that will enable us to do His commandment without any hesitance. John wrote: By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome 1Jn.5:2-3.

The word of God that we continue to read day by day actually not difficult to follow. The love of God will burn our passion to both keep and obey His commandments. When Jacob must work for Laban for another 7 years after the first 7 years, it seemed only a few days to him because of the love he had for Rachel Gen.29:20. The power of God’s love will definitely make everything easier!

The only enemy of the love of God is the love of this world Jam.4:4. That’s why John continued: “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God 1Jn.5:4-5?” This world and its lust will make the commandments of God become heavier and heavier! Believers must overcome this world and it could only happen through faith! Forgiving others with God’s love will not heavy if this world doesn’t keep whispering vengeance to our ears. Walk in holiness will not be a burdensome if this world doesn’t keep showing the deceitfulness of sins. Let us all have faith to overcome this world so that we can be victorious in doing God’s words.

KEKUATAN CINTA

Ada kekuatan yang luar biasa di dalam kasih Allah, kekuatan yang akan memampukan kita untuk melakukan perintah-Nya tanpa rasa enggan. Yohanes menulis: Inilah tandanya, bahwa kita mengasihi anak-anak Allah, yaitu apabila kita mengasihi Allah serta melakukan perintah-perintah-Nya. Sebab inilah kasih kepada Allah, yaitu, bahwa kita menuruti perintah-perintah-Nya. Perintah-perintah-Nya itu tidak berat 1Yoh.5:2-3.

Firman Allah yang terus kita baca dari hari ke hari sebenarnya tidak sulit untuk diikuti. Kasih Allah akan membakar kerinduan kita untuk menyimpan dan menaati perintah-perintah-Nya. Ketika Yakub harus bekerja untuk Laban selama 7 tahun lagi setelah 7 tahun yang pertama, hal itu dianggapnya seperti beberapa hari saja karena cintanya pada Rahel Kej.29:20. Kekuatan cinta Allah pastilah akan membuat segalanya jadi lebih mudah!

Satu-satunya musuh dari cinta akan Allah adalah cinta akan dunia ini Yak.4:4. Itulah sebabnya Yohanes melanjutkan: “Sebab semua yang lahir dari Allah, mengalahkan dunia. Dan inilah kemenangan yang mengalahkan dunia: iman kita. Siapakah yang mengalahkan dunia, selain dari pada dia yang percaya, bahwa Yesus adalah Anak Allah 1Yoh.5:4-5?” Dunia ini dan segala keinginannya akan membuat perintah-perintah Tuhan menjadi lebih berat dan makin berat! Orang percaya harus mengalahkan dunia ini dan hal itu hanya dapat terjadi melalui iman! Mengampuni sesama dengan kasih Allah tidak akan menjadi berat jika dunia ini tidak terus membisikkan pembalasan ke telinga kita. Berjalan dalam kekudusan tidak akan menjadi berat jika dunia ini tidak terus menunjukkan tipu daya dosa. Marilah kita semua memiliki iman untuk mengalahkan dunia ini supaya kita dapat berkemenangan dalam melakukan Firman Allah.
