7 BOWLS: TRUE AND RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENTS

The 7 bowls will be very horrible for those who left behind in the days of antichrist. It is also called as the seven plagues Rev.15:6; the bowls of the wrath of God on the earth Rev.16:1. Indeed, God is love 1Jn.4:8, but at the same time He is Holy 1Pet.1:15-16. The 7 bowls are the evidence of His true and righteous judgments. John heard the angel of the waters saying: “You are righteous, O Lord, the One who is and who was and who is to be, because You have judged these things Rev.16:5.”

In the 4^th bowl, even though men were scorched with great heat, they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory Rev.16:9. Also in the 5^th bowl, they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and did not repent of their deeds Rev.16:11. And in the last bowl, great hail from heaven fell upon men, each hailstone about the weight of a talent. But men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great Rev.16:21.

God is never doing wrong! He is always true and righteous! The great wrath of God does not happen in one night. Those horrible 7 bowls happen because of the hardness of their heart. Paul wrote: But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, who “will render to each one according to his deeds Rom.2:5-6.” A hardness heart, an impenitent heart, also does not happen in one night. Indeed, God will always keep speaking to His people with various ways 1Ki.17:13-15. Let us not despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering Rom.2:4.

7 CAWAN: PENGHAKIMAN YANG BENAR DAN ADIL

Ketujuh cawan sangatlah mengerikan bagi mereka yang tertinggal di zaman antikristus. Itu juga disebut sebagai tujuh malapetaka Wah.15:6; cawan murka Allah ke atas bumi Wah.16:1. Sesungguhnya, Allah itu kasih 1Yoh.4:8, namun di saat yang sama Dia kudus 1Pet.1:15-16. Ketujuh cawan adalah bukti dari penghakiman-Nya yang benar dan adil. Yohanes mendengar malaikat yang berkuasa atas air itu berkata: “Adil Engkau, Engkau yang ada dan yang sudah ada, Engkau yang kudus, yang telah menjatuhkan hukuman ini Wah.16:5.”

Dalam cawan ke-4, meskipun manusia dihanguskan oleh panas api yang dahsyat, mereka menghujat nama Allah yang berkuasa atas malapetaka-malapetaka itu dan mereka tidak bertobat untuk memuliakan Dia Wah.16:9. Juga dalam cawan ke-5, mereka menghujat Allah yang di surga karena kesakitan dan karena bisul mereka, tetapi mereka tidak bertobat dari perbuatan-perbuatan mereka Wah.16:11. Dan dalam cawan terakhir, hujan es besar, seberat seratus pon, jatuh dari langit menimpa manusia, dan manusia menghujat Allah karena malapetaka hujan es itu, sebab malapetaka itu sangat dahsyat Wah.16:21.

Allah tidak pernah salah! Dia selalu benar dan adil! Murka Allah yang besar tidak terjadi dalam semalam. Ketujuh cawan yang mengerikan itu terjadi karena kekerasan hati mereka. Paulus menulis: Sesuai dengan kekerasan hatimu yang tidak mau bertobat, engkau menimbun murka atas dirimu sendiri pada hari waktu mana murka dan hukuman Allah yang adil akan dinyatakan. Ia akan membalas setiap orang menurut perbuatannya Rom.2:5-6. Hati yang keras, hati yang tidak mau bertobat, juga tidak terjadi dalam semalam. Sesungguhnya Allah akan selalu berbicara pada umat-Nya dengan berbagai cara 1Raj.17:13-15. Janganlah kita menganggap sepi kekayaan kemurahan-Nya, kesabaran-Nya dan kelapangan hati-Nya Rom.2:4.
