Daily Bible Reading: Luke 15:1-10, Psalms 146-147

THE 99

There was a time when Jesus sat to teach people about the Kingdom of God, there also was a time when Jesus sat and ate with the sinners. Jesus spoke a parable: “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the 99 in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it Luk.15:4?”

Jesus was explaining that the group of 99 must not complain like what the Pharisees and scribes did. While the 99 sheep did not have the ability to save their friend, so the shepherd must leave them in the wilderness and they must release the shepherd to rescue their lovely fluffy friend. Jesus was emphasizing the importance of having the sense of belonging among the sheep Rm.12:5.

We do not know exactly what had happened to that one lost sheep so that he got lost, but one thing that we must know exactly is why we must find him! It’s all about love. The 99 sheep must have the compassion toward the 1 who lost. Having that kind of compassion will help us to be humble and always aware with the same risk of being lost 1Cor.10:12! The heavenly compassion will also enable us to rejoice together with the shepherd even the party was happened in the home and not in the wilderness. Let us pray so that we have a strong sense of belonging toward the body of Christ also a great compassion toward those who lost.

Ada waktunya di mana Yesus duduk untuk mengajar orang-orang tentang Kerajaan Allah, ada juga waktunya ketika Yesus duduk dan makan bersama orang-orang berdosa. Yesus menyampaikan sebuah perumpamaan: “”Siapakah di antara kamu yang mempunyai seratus ekor domba, dan jikalau ia kehilangan seekor di antaranya, tidak meninggalkan yang 99 ekor di padang gurun dan pergi mencari yang sesat itu sampai ia menemukannya Luk.15:4?”

Yesus sedang menjelaskan bahwa kelompok yang 99 tidak boleh bersungut-sungut seperti yang dilakukan orang Farisi dan ahli Taurat. Karena 99 ekor domba tidak memiliki kemampuan untuk menyelamatkan temannya, maka sang gembala harus meninggalkan mereka di padang gurun dan mereka harus merelakan gembalanya pergi untuk menyelamatkan teman mereka yang terkasih. Yesus sedang menekankan pentingnya memiliki rasa saling memiliki di antara domba Rm.12:5.

Kita tidak tahu persis apa yang telah terjadi pada domba yang hilang itu sehingga dia tersesat, namun satu hal yang harus kita ketahui dengan pasti adalah alasan mengapa kita harus menemukannya! Ini semua tentang cinta. 99 domba harus memiliki belas kasihan terhadap 1 domba yang tersesat. Memiliki belas kasihan sedemikian akan menolong kita untuk menjadi rendah hati dan selalu waspada bahwa ada risiko yang sama untuk menjadi tersesat 1Kor.10:12! Belas kasih surgawi juga akan memampukan kita untuk bersukacita bersama dengan gembala sekalipun pesta itu terjadi di rumah dan bukan di padang gurun. Mari berdoa agar kita mempunyai rasa saling memiliki yang kokoh terhadap tubuh Kristus juga belas kasih yang besar terhadap mereka yang terhilang.
