HOW TO OPEN THE DOOR OF FEAR

The greatest victory upon the cross of Christ somehow was not received by the disciples as it should be. Instead, the disciples might think that it was the biggest lost as they did not have their beloved and powerful teacher anymore. The Bible wrote: Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you Jn.20:19.”

The same door of fear that locked in the disciples also somehow locked in the believers. Jesus then came and gave them peace. Jesus continued: “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you Jn.20:21.” The true peace from heaven is not the passive one, instead it is the active peace that will empower us to be sent out! The true evidence of having peace from Jesus could be seen when the believers open the door of fear, start to step out from their fear, and go out to declare Jesus.

And when Jesus had said that, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained Jn.20:22-23.” When there is the presence of the Holy Spirit, so there will be no room for fear! Paul also wrote: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind 2Tim.1:7.” Receiving the Holy Spirit is the only powerful way to open the door of fear and overcome any fears. Peter and the disciples did not afraid anymore after the Holy Spirit had baptised them in the day of Pentecost. Holy Spirit is keep working until now, Holy Spirit baptism still exist until now. Let us walk in the power of the Holy Spirit.

BAGAIMANA MEMBUKA PINTU KETAKUTAN

Kemenangan terbesar di atas salib Kristus ternyata tidak diterima oleh para murid sebagaimana mestinya. Sebaliknya, para murid mungkin berpikir bahwa itu adalah kekalahan terbesar karena mereka tidak lagi memiliki guru yang disayangi dan penuh kuasa. Alkitab menulis: Ketika hari sudah malam pada hari pertama minggu itu berkumpullah murid-murid Yesus di suatu tempat dengan pintu-pintu yang terkunci karena mereka takut kepada orang-orang Yahudi. Pada waktu itu datanglah Yesus dan berdiri di tengah-tengah mereka dan berkata: “Damai sejahtera bagi kamu Yoh.20:19!”

Pintu ketakutan yang sama, yang mengunci murid-murid, ternyata juga dapat mengunci orang-orang percaya. Yesus kemudian datang dan memberi mereka kedamaian. Yesus melanjutkan, “Damai sejahtera bagi kamu! Sama seperti Bapa mengutus Aku, demikian juga sekarang Aku mengutus kamu Yoh.20:21.” Kedamaian sejati dari surga bukanlah sesuatu yang pasif, melainkan damai yang aktif, yang akan memberdayakan kita untuk diutus! Bukti nyata adanya damai sejahtera dari Yesus dapat dilihat ketika orang percaya membuka pintu ketakutan, mulai keluar dari ketakutan mereka, dan keluar untuk menyatakan Yesus.

Dan sesudah berkata demikian, Dia mengembusi mereka dan berkata: “Terimalah Roh Kudus. Jikalau kamu mengampuni dosa orang, dosanya diampuni, dan jikalau kamu menyatakan dosa orang tetap ada, dosanya tetap ada Yoh.20:22-23.” Ketika ada kehadiran Roh Kudus, maka tidak akan ada tempat untuk ketakutan! Paulus juga menulis: “Sebab Allah memberikan kepada kita bukan roh ketakutan, melainkan roh yang membangkitkan kekuatan, kasih dan ketertiban 2Tim.1:7.” Menerima Roh Kudus adalah satu-satunya cara yang ampuh untuk membuka pintu ketakutan dan mengatasi ketakutan apa pun. Petrus dan para murid tidak lagi takut sesudah Roh Kudus membaptis mereka di hari Pentakosta. Roh Kudus bekerja sampai saat ini, baptisan Roh Kudus masih ada sampai sekarang. Marilah kita berjalan dalam kuasa Roh Kudus.
